Small Wins, Big Impact: Setting Mini-Goals to Close Out the Year
Goodbye Summer and hello Fall! We have entered the last quarter of 2023.

It’s crazy how fast this year has flown by. I’m not sure about you but I’m thankful that the temperatures are starting to drop. Fall has become my favorite season. The weather is perfect for spending time in nature without fear of melting in the sun. It’s also that time to pull out the cozy crewnecks and stylish boots! As we step into this new quarter, it’s a great time to pause and reflect on our journey and recognize just how far we’ve come. It’s also prime time to strategize how we want to end the year. With around 90 days remaining, there’s plenty of time to work towards accomplishing some exciting mini-goals. Setting mini, achievable goals helps us stay motivated and focused ensuring that we make the most of the months ahead. Here are 3 tips to help you set goals to close out this year on a high.
1. Be Specific and Measurable
The key to successful goal planning is clarity. For instance, let’s consider the goal of “becoming healthier.” Well, it’s very vague and lacks measurability. How you will become healthier? We can rework the goal to say “adopting a healthier lifestyle by engaging in at least 30 minutes of exercise three times a week.” Now that’s very specific and measurable allowing you to track your progress. When you can measure your achievements you are more likely to stay motivated to accomplish the goal.
2. Prioritize Realistic Goals
While we want to end this year on a high note with our personal growth, it’s essential to be realistic and mindful of the holiday season’s demands. The holiday season can be a very busy time both personally and professionally. Be sure to consider your current commitments, responsibilities, and limitations when crafting your goals. Unrealistic goals can lead to both burnout and frustration and we don’t want that to happen. Setting achievable goals allows you to enjoy the holidays while making steady progress toward your dreams.
3. Set a Deadline and Create an Action Plan
Every goal, no matter the size, needs a target date for completion. The target date serves as your accountability partner ensuring that you stay committed to your mini-goals. The action plan is the outline of steps needed to achieve the goal. Think of it our your roadmap on your journey. With a well-structured action plan in hand, you’ll find it easier to stay organized, motivated, and laser-focused on your path to success.
Now if you need a real accountability partner, I got you.
As you set your mini goals for the next 3 months to close out the year, give yourself grace and be flexible and ready to adapt as the busy season is approaching. Be sure to celebrate your wins along the way as you cross out achievements on your action plan list. The remainder of this year is full of potential adventures waiting to be embraced. Let the journey begin!
