You Glow Differently When You’re Happy

How’s your glow looking lately?

Let me tell you how I’ve learned to tap into my glow. Apparently, people think I’m a natural-born problem solver (it’s taking me some time to accept and understand this gift God has given me). People have always felt comfortable coming to me for advice or needing a safe space to vent. Like strangers will sit and tell me their whole life story with zero expectation of me doing the same. They simply desire a safe space which I’ve been providing without knowing. Now I don’t know the answers to everything, but if you ask I’ll give you my opinion which can be pretty raw but people appreciate it the honesty. I never thought I was doing anything special but as I get older I understand that I have a gift to offer that everyone cannot give. When I’m in a space where I’m able to balance the time that I give others with the time I give myself, I’m in my glow zone!

You're glow is legendary

Has anyone ever told you that you glow differently when you’re happy? When you’re genuinely happy, a warm and radiant light shines from your very core and people gravitate towards your positive energy. Let’s chat on 5 ways to achieve that glow and how to keep it.

Nourish positive relationships

Take a look at the circle around you and do a mental check. These are the people that you will spend the most time with so your circle should include truth-telling, uplifting, and supportive individuals that inspire you and your passions to grow

Positive Affirmations

Do you have a favorite affirmation? On my bathroom mirror, I have an affirmation that I look at every time I walk in the bathroom. It serves as a reminder of who I am and what I can accomplish. Pick a favorite affirmation to write down, post it on your mirror, and say it out loud every morning. Speaking positivity into your life each day can truly make a difference in your overall mood each day.

Have a Morning Routine

Starting your morning with a routine is a great way to get your mind in a positive mindset. Now this doesn’t have to be anything complicated. A few suggestions are journaling, meditating, reading (or listening to an audiobook), and exercising. If you’re new to setting a routine, choose two suggestions and commit daily for the next month and see how your life begins to change.

Invest in Your Dreams

The best investment you can make is always in yourself. Whether it’s investing in learning a new skill/hobby or investing in building your confidence level. Set SMART goals to achieve your dream and share it with the world. We all have a gift that the world is waiting on so don’t sleep on yours. Set a cadence to prioritize investing in yourself. If it’s a few hours a day, once a week, or a few times a month, set that time for you!

Unplug

We spend entirely too much time on our phones. In a fast-paced technology world, it’s crucial that we set time to disconnect to keep the positive glow that we want. A complete detox can be difficult for some so choosing one day out of the week or a few hours each day to no social media is beneficial to our health. You’ll slowly begin to not miss it and realize how much free time you have to engage in activities that bring you joy and relaxation.

Live in the Present

If you’re an overthinker like me, then this is for you! Stop thinking about what occurred yesterday, last week, and two years ago. You also need to stop thinking about the what-ifs of the future. Why stress the unknown? It’s stopping you from enjoying the present which is your glow zone.

What’s one change you can make today to get back to loving yourself and get your glow on?
