How to Show Up As Your Best Self Every Day

Life can sometimes feel like a never-ending roller coaster of ups and downs. No day is quite perfect but some days feel better than others. During the down moments, we may find it difficult to push through until the sun shines again. This leads to not feeling at our best but we shouldn’t let that hold us back from showing up as our true authentic selves. Now showing up as your best self will require some effort and discipline to build new habits. A little guidance is always helpful so look no further for 5 ways to show up as your best self every day.

Wake Up Early

Rushing in the morning before work puts you in a scrambly mood which can greatly affect your day. Waking up just to rush your face routine, eat, and get dressed in a short time period will stress you out before your day truly gets started. Allowing yourself time in the morning to peacefully get ready will make a difference in your mood. Try waking up at least one hour before your normal time take a few moments with your favorite tea/coffee and grab a journal to plan your day and manifest your goals.

Be Active

Being a couch potato every day won’t allow you to show up as your best self.

Find a way to include 30 mins of activity into your day. Don’t overstress this one. A simple walk in the park or around your neighborhood enjoying what Mother Nature has to offer. Joining a gym is not a requirement for being active. YouTube has so many great free at-home workouts you can do with equipment or without equipment. One of my favorites on YT is Mr. and Mrs. Muscle

Keep Your Battery Recharged

You know you can’t pour from an empty cup, right? Recharging your battery is a must to be able to show up as your best self. If you show up for everyone but yourself, you will create an unhealthy cycle that will leave you completely drained with no time to love yourself. The next time you feel your battery begin to drain, walk away from whatever you’re doing and take a break. It’s ok to solely focus on you. Some may call it selfish, but you come first. Your health (mentally, physically, and emotionally) is more important. We’re not Superman, we’re human!

Set a Consistent Bed Time

Having a consistent bedtime routine is essential to your health. It helps you wake up on time and gives you that refreshed energy feeling in the morning. No set bedtime fits all but a good guide is to start with knowing the time you’d like to wake up and set your bedtime 7-8 hours before. For example, if I want to wake up at 6:30 am I need to set a bedtime between 10-11 pm. Many alarm apps can auto-set this for you. If you have an iPhone, there’s a sleep schedule alarm you can set for each day of the week in the Clock app.

Find Your Tribe

Surround yourself with people who love, support, and hold you accountable! Your tribe is a key component to showing up as your best self. We all need accountability even though it may be hard to admit. Who you surround yourself with is essentially who you become. If you’re on a search for your people, step outside your comfort zone and explore new activities. Find those with a growth mindset similar to yours or that you desire to be around. We all deserve to be loved!
